my creative space :: taking it with me

I’m returning to paid employment today with very mixed feelings that I don’t yet have the words to express. I have tears, lots of them, a tornado in my stomach and a lump bigger than Uluru in my throat – I don’t want to leave my baby girl.

I’ll get through the day – with a little help from my dear friend Crochet. She is packed away in my bag ready to calm my nerves heading off on the train, something to distract me at lunch and to settle my mind on the return journey.taking it with me

You better head on over to Kirsty’s place – I think I’m going to be sick!

  1. Good luck and enjoy the break for what it is. There is nothing better than the delight on your own childs face when they see you come home in the afternoon ... something to look forward to! Nic

  3. That is hard. Crochet is a good balancer, good idea to take it. Hope it went ok. And that that stretchy bit of elastic that goes between your heart and her heart didn't tug too hard. xxx

  9. I feel you my friend, see it as a welcomed break. I have eased into it very slowly, and still going slow, but it does feel like a break now rather than going to work :)

  10. I can’t imagine how hard yesterday must have been for you. I hope it was smoother for both you and your baby girl than you could have imagined. What a good idea to take your crotchet with you, I’m sure it would have helped make the time fly.

  11. I hope it all went well Sally - and that the craft helped to soothe you, as only craft (or chocolate!) can!

  14. So I am just reading this now - and have read above - so I know you did OK getting back to work. GREAT! It is incredible how nervous you feel at both going back to what you once felt so comfortable doing and at leaving your little one.
