thinking of you :: cam @ curly pops

I’ve been reading blogs and writing my own blog for a little over a year now. Being part of the blogging community has meant that many bloggers now feature as a part of my daily life. Little moments pass by where I find myself thinking of them despite the fact that I’ve never actually met them in person – they occupy a significance presence in my life. These moments can be anything from recognising a fabric, noticing a flower or hearing a song – they are many and they are varied.

My pinking shears inspires such a moment. Every time I see them I think of Cam @ Curly Pops. I didn’t own a pair until I read Cam’s superhero headband tutorial and had an “ah-ha” moment. I bought a pair of pinking shears almost straight away – and since that time every time I see or use them I think of Cam.

Since the pinking shears live on my sewing table that means that I think of Cam pretty much every other day.

Thank you Cam.

As I’d like to recognise the wonderful and sometimes quirky contribution my fellow bloggers make to my existence I’ll be back again next Tuesday with another “thinking of you” post.

  3. Lovely post Sal - and so true, blogland is a lovely world of people that we know yet don't, but who are prominent in our lives.
Music is a very strong trigger for me - I hear songs and they remind me of being in a certain place as a child too.

  7. I have one of Cam's cunglasses holders and I think of her whenever I use it to. It is weird how many of us have never met yet, we think of each other often..

  9. Very funny. I also Cam in also sorts of everyday things. Like teatowels at the oppy and paper at the studio. Or I will suddenly stop and try to smentally solve someone's problem from the days post whilst involved in lifesaving work in my own life. I guess we are all a bit like the pen pals of old - only I write a whole lot more than back then. Cherrie

(i'm actually AMAZED that a crafter would go into adulthood with no pair of pinkers. ive got my grandmothers and was given my own pair as soon as i looked at a sewingmachine.) ;)

  11. Aww thanks Sal - that's so sweet! I do the exact same thing would you believe.
When I see my pinking sheers, I think of Nikki (nicolemdesign) because she's the first person who told me what pinking sheers were used for.... since then, I've been completely in love with them. I'm not sure how healthy it is to be in love with a pair of scissors hee hee

  13. Me too, me too. It’s amazing how many bloggers AI think of everyday. I think of Cam every time I use my fabulous Curly Pops camera bag – many times a day. I often end up talking about her to people too, as everyone wants to know where I got such a fabulous bag!

  16. ha! funny I've just been searching for pinking shears - so funny :)

Lovely post, I often do the same and it's quite nice to have a community of people that you may never meet, yet have such a strong influence on who we are, I think it's fantastic.

Also, a big thanks for all the sweet comments youve left on my blog of late and apologies for the slow replies, I'm getting there I promise. Give your lil man a huge hug from me, I love that he liked the blankie! Makes me feel better that if my bean turns out to be a boy, he will like it too.

  19. This is a lovely post! Like you, I seem to be quoting my blog friends to my real friends all the time. And while I sound very knowledgable, most of them still don't 'get' it!
