getting started…

… yep that’s right. Today I am finally getting started on my Christmas sewing. I’ve been feeling a bit exhausted after the girl’s birthday, a bit flat so to speak, my sewing mojo has deserted me at my hour of need – but today is the day to push through it regardless and try to get something done.

flat

So to help the mojo find its way back to me… and to make room in the fridge ready for festive delights… I’ve poured myself a glass of flat champagne with orange and headed to the sewing machine.

Wish me luck won’t you.

  2. Good luck! You won't need it with that drink by your side. You will be whizzing away in no time.
Love your machine. Looks just a bit flasher than mine. Mine is Janome too but 18 years old now! lol Have fun, hope mojo returned with a sip of your drink!

  4. Look, can someone explain the 'spoon' thing? Since my pub working days I've always done it - but I've had my doubts and now you're sitting down to see with FLAT champas and orange...

    (good luck).

  6. haha I like the sounds of that!!
Thanks for your comment on my blog! When our kids ask a question we tell them honestly, within reason of course, giving little bits of info for them to think about. 'Is santa real?' "No but there used to be a man who was a very giving person and that is what santa is based on'. 'Why does that man dress up as santa?' ' To remind us all that its important to be giving and happy like St Nicholas'. I guess it depends on the child too, our 3 year old thinks Santa is awesome and thats cool but we dont say 'yeah and he's going to bring you presents!' We just smile and say nothing. Our 6 year old has quizzed us about Santa since she was 4 and we have just answered her honestly and told stories of the real St Nicholas. This is the first year she has started to ask about Christianity, as she has some friends who are Christians. I guess we just never felt comfortable lying to them about this, I know its not really a 'big' lie but I dunno, still kinda decietful. I had to laugh at you sayingyour little fella is scared of Santa, I agree!! I often find it ammusing that so many kids are scared but the parents still convice them otherwise, its like their instincts are saying no its not right! And we say yes, but its santa you wont have a happy childhood if you dont believe in santa! Anyway, I am rambling now, anyone would think I was the one with the wone!!

  7. Advice from me? If the champers doesn't work, try a margarita...or two. You'll be happy even if you don't get creative ;)
