a little bit late

Ever finished a sewing project a little bit late?

Here is a summer maternity top. A little bit past its usefulness since winter starts at the end of the week and I’m now in my final trimester. maternity top white

And another one in black. maternity top black

Not to worry. In the spring they’ll be good to wear while my tummy is still a bit squishy. Still, it is a bit disappointing that I didn’t get my act together and have them finished in the summer like I’d originally planned.

  1. They are pretty and could you still get a little wear ( if they fit ) with a long sleeve something layered underneath?

  2. I agree with Tammy, I'm a huge fan of long sleeves under a short sleeve top, extends the wardrobe so nicely! They are very stylish too, would look great with the sleeves underneath! Good job :)

  3. Absolutely my thoughts as well! They would look gorgeous with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath and a cardigan on top.
    Beautiful fabrics too!

  4. Neverind. I'm wearing a maternity top right now, and my baby is four months old, so I guess if you are anything like me it will get plenty of use. Also, like the others said, throw a long-sleeved tee underneath and you are good to go.

  5. I agree - they'd be fabulous for layering! I've been living in cheepo comfy long-sleeve, long line t's from Big W under - been great for keeping that preggy tummy toasty!

  8. Oh these are REALLY lovely Sally... I wish I'd made such things, I think my tummy is going to be more than "a bit squishy" for quite some time. ;)

  10. Am I ever late in finishing a sewing project? Sure am. I have been catching up on your blog this morning and it seems you have been very busy! My mind boggles. You inspire me to fit some more sewing in myself. I hope you are feeling well. It's nice to read about your 3rd trimester. I miss some things about being pregnant. Eve is now 9 months, can hardly believe it !
