#LastMinuteXmasSewing

last minute sewing

Okay folks its time to start the Christmas sewing. Yep. You read right. Start the Christmas sewing. Not finish it off. Start!!! Ahhhhh!!! I lost my sewing mojo and now it is panic stations peeps. Deep psycho-analysis of why sewing mojo left me right before the Chrissy deadline will be undertaken post-event. For now it is time to hit the sewing room. I’m feeling frantic. Feeling pumped. Feeling like I did the morning of my first HSC exam.

I’ll be tweeting these endeavours using the hash tag #LastMinuteXmasSewing. Have you got last minute sewing too??? Why not join me. Or perhaps you don’t have last minute sewing because you’re super dooper organised. Use the hash tag too and show me what I could be doing if only I’d got going earlier.

Wish me luck!!!

  1. This post gave me a good laugh (sorry that it is at your expense)! I think it is just because I would be in the same position if I had decided to sew Christmas things. Your sewing space looks lovely and calm though :)

  3. I had to abandon the rag dolls (plus clothes) I was making for my Bean and her cousin... there was absolutely no way it was going to happen.

I have, however, just decided today that I will 'whip up' a dress for her instead. Sigh. Why do we do it to ourselves?

Good luck getting it all done! x

  5. Good luck!! No last minute sewing here, the one project I didn't finish (I got sick and have been struggling with the meds) won't be missed and will make a lovely Valentine's gift for my girl, I think.

    Merry Christmas to you all!

  6. Good luck with that last minute sewing I'm in the same boat as you, I'll be sewing away tonight and tomorrow I'd say. Next year I'll be more organised..... if I repeat it to myself a few times maybe I'll just do it;) Your sewing space looks lovely Sal. x

  7. Sally, I always have these big ambitions, but never achieve them because they expand outside of my capabilities. I am achieving heaps this year because M is home, but still have more stuff to do than is actually possible.

Still on my list (Before Christmas):
Shirt for Liam to wear on Christmas Day (started)
Hats x 3 (or whatever I get to)
    dolly for Amelie (with clothes!!)
    spec case

    (After Christmas)
    3 x super-hero capes
    1 x earbud case

Oh, and my awl has gone missing (?!) - I see yours there, may I please borrow it?

I will let you know how I go.....

  8. Go Sally, go Sally! You can do it!
You'll be fine, whatever gets done, gets done.
I have not sewn one single present this year... but I have big plans for after Christmas, when the pressure's off. Last year I did the mad sewing dash for all relatives and it put me off sewing for months!

    Have a wonderful Christmas.

  9. Good luck Sally! I have been sewing madly for weeks and have a 5 minute job left this morning, there's still things I haven't done but it's all for my kids so I can do it after Christmas. You can do it!!

  10. Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family Sal. I hope you get everything done but if you don't the kids probably won't notice so don't worry!
Here's hoping 2012 is the year we get acquainted IRL.
