the memo I didn’t read

Apparently I neglected to read the memo sent out by Ms. M declaring that she will never, never ever,  wear pants or shorts again.

shorts and tees

Bummer. I just finished making her two pairs of play shorts and there is a third pair almost finished, just waiting to be hemmed. I couldn’t help making some matching appliquéd tees to go with. I’m rather daggy like that. Oh well. The t-shirts have a chance of being worn but the chances of these shorts ever making it onto Ms. M and out into the yard for some play seem pretty slim.

  2. She might change her mind once summer arrives, if not maybe you could convince her that they are shorties pj's :)

    1. Perhaps I should tell her she is not allowed to wear them...?

  4. What a pity, they're so sweet. Hope she changes her mind. You could always try the old traverse psychology

    1. I was thinking that I might tell her that I'm going to give them to her brothers... I think that might possibly do the trick.

  5. O dear. Try selling them and let her know of your success. Cherrie

  6. oh 3 yos and their stong wills. Linus is the opposite... he insists on ONLY wearing shorts... all the time... in -30 degrees as well if he could. The compromise is that he gets to wear them at CC and when he goes outside he needs to put long pants on under his snow suit. Some days he is okay to skip the shorts though, but only in place of jeans *sigh*

  7. Can you unpick the crotch and turn then so the front/back seams become side seams, add some frill or co-ordinating fabric on the bottom and turn them into skirts?

Or, much easier, as you said - tell them they are going to E!

  8. Sounds veeerrry familiar! My Miss 3.5 here is exactly the same...multiple changes of clothes daily but always into another skirt or dress. Never the dreaded shorts or pants! And the washing...it just breeds in this place. Gorgeous shorts, I hope they do get some wear. :)
