knitted for them by their great grandmother

knitted jumpersknitted jumpers 2

These wonderful knits that my mob are wearing have been knitted by their great grandmother. Aren’t they just amazing? Of course they don’t really appreciate just how special the jumpers are. They know that they’ve been made especially for them, they know that they’ve been made with a whole lotta love and they know that they’ve been made by a great grandparent who lives a long way away. They know this stuff but they don’t really understand. Maybe one day they’ll get to meet her. I hope so.

Taking photos of these three on my own is near impossible. They’re so easily distracted. The big boy won’t stop a chattering, the middle girl wriggles and wriggles thus flashing her undies in every second shot and the little babe well he is too interested in eating the leaves and dirt to keep still and look up for a photo.

  2. Beautiful! I love the scallopped neckline of M's! So cute.

They will appreciate them one day when they pass them on to their own children (and bemoan the effort it takes to get a photo of them sitting still!)

  5. Beautiful jumpers! The three of them look great in them and I must say that I also especially live the photo of the three with E standing against the tree. If it is sharp enough to enlarge I most def would do, I love how it shows them and a snippet of their individual personalities in the shot, not to mention the autumn back drop and the camouflage tree trunk.

  8. What a talented Great Grandma. Knitted with love to keep them warm. That is the one thing that upsets me living so far away, our children don't get to really appreciate the elderly or get to know their own grandparents and great grandparents.

  9. Aww that is so sweet! My grandma is in the process of making Squishy a quilt and I am so excited. It is going to be a family heirloom for sure.

  10. How cool are those knitty kids! I think that was a fabulous photographic effort to boot. Can't remember the last time I tried to fit three kids into the one frame...

  13. Haha - it is really tricky to take photos of all three at once, isn't it? I think you've done really well though. The jumpers are lovely. The colours are beautiful. When did baby O get so BIG?

  16. Just precious.

My kids have 3 of their great grandparents still with us. They see them once a year but don't really "get" how lucky they are; still, my youngest cries with sadness for her "gran-nan" who died when she was only 10 months old. I think that it is our time, as one of the middle generations, to realise and appreciate the blessings until our kids are old enough to do so.

  17. These are so special Sal - even if the kids don't get how special they are I bet your grandmother loves that you do.
